Eating for Beauty with a Meat-free Diet

Eating for beauty naturally is a wholesome prescription for beautiful skin, clear eyes, a happy outlook, and youthful energy.

Certainly, enjoying healthy vegetarian food on a regular basis is the foundation of good health, but a wonderful side effect is that you look better. Part of this comes from simply feeling well. You don’t frown with a headache or get all wrinkly as you grumble about your aches and pains.

Instead, your skin is vibrant, a gentle smile plays on your lips, and your energy is bright and infectious.

Meat-free Beauty

In The Bible, Daniel and his friends declined the delicacies and wine offered to them by the king of Babylon. An official was worried that their looks would deteriorate in the absence of rich nourishment and end up displeasing the king.

Daniel asked the guard to give them 10 days: “Give us nothing but vegetables to eat and water to drink. Then compare our appearance with that of the young men who eat the royal food, and make a decision in accordance with what you see.”

When the 10 days were up, Daniel and his friends looked better nourished and healthier than any of the other young men. Their appearance convinced the guard, and he stopped eating from the royal provisions.

Fiber for Beauty

Another benefit of not eating meat is that you’ll probably take in more fiber because you’re eating more fruits and vegetables. Fiber is what you need to keep everything moving smoothly.

If you’re constipated, the condition of your bowels will show up on your face. Constipation contributes to puffiness, pimples, blackheads, and a washed-out complexion.

Lose the Meat to Gain Beauty

Because meat contains a lot of fat, when you stop eating it you easily lose weight. Also, your skin will clear up.

Meat eating causes a very acid condition to develop in the body. Because of this, the body must pull calcium from the bones to help the blood maintain its slightly alkaline state. This leads to osteoporosis and the familiar appearance of the hunched-over “little old lady.” Vegetarians have lower levels of osteoporosis than the general, meat-eating population.

Eliminating meat from your diet is the foundation of an eating for beauty plan. From there, you can fine tune your diet to include more juices and more organic raw foods. It won’t take long before you and your loved ones see a difference. Friends will say, “What have you been doing? You look 10 years younger!”
