A Healthy Diet Plan of All Raw Foods

Best Selling Books and DVDs from the Raw Family
My healthy diet plan continues. It’s day 11 of the 30-day challenge I’m undertaking with my two friends. This is an amazingly good way to help reach a goal or start a good habit, like improving the way you eat.

Because this challenge already feels so successful, I can see myself starting another one right away when this one is fulfilled. In fact, I’m considering starting an additional one before this is over, related to an entirely different area of my life. But that’s a topic for another website.

Update from Day 11

My weight stayed the same at 120.2 pounds. As always, I started the day with a glass of water, followed by 1 teaspoon of BarleyMax in water.

Here’s what I ate yesterday:

  • For breakfast I had a smoothie made of 1 banana, handful of blueberries , 2 prunes, 2 teaspoons of sunflower seeds , sprinkle of cinnamon, 1 cup water, 2 ice cubes – blend well. It was delicious and a pretty purple color. Click here to learn about my favorite powerful blender for creating smooth and creamy smoothies.

  • My morning snack was a pear, which I enjoyed slowly and with consciousness, having been inspired by my dear friend Diana. It was good to focus on the pear’s qualities of sweetness, juiciness, grainy texture, and slightly tough skin, rather than just wolf it down without really tasting it.

  • Lunch was a simple salad of cucumber, tomato, onion, pine nuts, olive oil, raw apple cider vinegar, sprinkle of organic dried herbs; 6 olives on the side.

  • Afternoon Snack: Apple with almond butter. Yum!

  • Before dinner I started to feel bored about food. I was hungry but bored with my meals of late. If someone had put a plate of cooked food in front of me, I would have been in trouble. That is one of the great things about this challenge… sticking to my healthy diet plan of raw foods is so much easier when I think about how I’ve committed myself to this, and how I’m accountable to my challenge mates and people who might read my blog.

    Raw Family Signature Dishes

Anyhow, I remembered I had some fresh zucchini and thought a nice spaghetti dinner would be good. What, you ask, isn’t spaghetti cooked? Not this recipe. The zucchini is put through a spiral slicer appliance that creates long strands that look like the real thing. Here’s the recipe from Living on Live Food by Alissa Cohen. It’s delicious.

    Raw Spaghetti with Marinara Sauce

Marinara Sauce – Place the ingredients in a food processor and blend until smooth:
    • 2 1/2 cups tomatoes
    • 12 sundried tomatoes, soaked
    • 1/4 cup olive oil
    • 4 cloves garlic
    • 3 dates, pitted and soaked
    • 2 tablespoons parsley
    • 1/8 teaspoon cayenne
    • 1 teaspoon sea salt

More Comments: I felt good all day. An interesting thing happened in the evening. I was practicing a technique to rest my weary eyes… of palming my eyes while breathing deeply. What I noticed was how exceptionally clear, cool, and expansive my upper nasal passages and head felt. This is something new and very nice. Oh, and my eyesight was actually a bit clearer afterwards, too. My opinion is that the eyesight improvement came from the palming exercise, but the expansive feeling in my head was due to the cleansing effect of this healthy diet plan of all raw foods.
