Including Lots of Healthy Foods
In Your Diet Will
Improve Your Health

Eating healthy foods is one of the absolute best things you can do for your health.

  • They will give you more energy.
  • They have been proven to prevent and help reverse serious illnesses such as heart disease, stroke, diabetes, cancer, and arthritis.
  • Losing weight is easier.
  • If you make your diet predominantly healing food and natural herbs , you will find that you don’t get the less serious ailments so much, or you will recover from them more quickly.

When I’m eating the best I can, I can go for years without getting the flu (and that’s without a flu shot) or even a cold.

People may complain that it costs too much to buy healthy foods. Look at it this way: It’s the best health insurance money can buy.

Your immune system will be enhanced by the antioxidants you get from eating blueberries and other berries, broccoli, tomatoes, garlic, grapes, mushrooms, spinach, carrots, apples , and oranges.

When your immune system is strong, it can deal with free radicals that lead to disease.

The antioxidants in healing foods inhibit the destructive effects of oxidation in the body or in foods that can accelerate the development and progression of cancer, heart disease, and neurological diseases, including eye conditions.

Super Foods?

There’s a lot of hype about so-called super foods. These are often very expensive powders and potions that probably are nutritious, but you don’t need to spend your hard-earned money on these special food products.

I’m sure there are some specific instances when they can help a person recover from injuries or illnesses but in general, as part of a normal healthy diet, they aren’t necessary.

You will get loads of outstanding nutrition from fresh healthy foods, preferably organic .

Consider honey and cinnamon for a natural home remedy.

Stock Up on Fruits and Vegetables

So, when you go grocery shopping, fill your cart up with lettuce and other greens, whole grains, lentils and black beans and black-eyed peas, kale, bananas, almonds, sunflower seeds , and flaxseed . Your dollar will go further if you focus on the whole foods, rather than processed. For example, if you need to save money cook your own garbanzo beans instead of buying them canned. An excellent way to get children to eat more fruits and veggies is to serve them in the form of a sweet and delicious smoothie. Click here to learn about my favorite blender and watch a video showing a child-friendly green smoothie being made.

Fruit Bowl Eat lots of fresh fruits and vegetables. If you fill up on them, in addition to staying healthy, you will find it easy to arrive at and maintain your ideal weight and ensure you're getting enough fiber in your diet.

Cut way back on processed snack foods like high-fat, high-calorie, salty chips and nuts, cookies, and cakes, as well as sugar- and chemical-laden processed drinks . Don’t buy anything made with processed grain/flour products and refined sugar . Instead of regular spaghetti, buy whole wheat spaghetti. Instead of white bread, read the labels and buy those that say “whole wheat;” if it says wheat flour, that’s just regular processed flour.

Always think “whole foods” and “plant based.”
