Losing Weight is Natural and Easy on a Healthful Diet

Losing weight is usually a welcome side effect of changing your diet to a healthy one.

There’s an incredible amount of diet information and misinformation out there… thousands of books and courses and online diet plans and TV programs and CDs and DVDs and sometimes crazy-sounding diets like the grapefruit diet and rice diet and apple cider vinegar diet and all-meat diet, all purporting to have the key to becoming thin.

What Is a Healthy Diet?

How is the average person supposed to know what exactly constitutes a healthy diet? A lot of these diets will work in the short run to help overweight people drop pounds fast, but in the long term they can be very damaging to a person’s health.

The high-protein/low-carb diet was successful in helping people lose weight, but as a long-term diet, it’s dangerously unhealthy, being high in animal protein and fat which contribute to heart disease, diabetes, kidney ailments and cancer…. especially because the diet seemed to encourage people to eat a terribly unbalanced diet of mostly meat and to shun the healthy foods like vegetables and fruits. Perhaps that wasn’t the intention of the diet, but that’s what people ran with. It justified their addiction to meat.

Is fast weight loss a good idea?

So, back to changing your diet to a healthy one. When you cut back or ideally eliminate meat, hopefully you’ll start eating more fruits and vegetables, whole grains and beans. These foods are high in nutrients and fiber and low in calories. Slimming down will be the natural and easy result of eating that way.

Low fat, no animal protein… that’s the key to losing weight.
