Is Natural Weight Loss

Natural weight loss – is it possible? The media would have us believe otherwise, since we constantly see ads and commercials for pills and drinks and potions that will magically melt the weight off.

Or you’re encouraged to become of member of and buy meals from various diet programs at a high cost.

You Can Do This at Home

There is a simpler program that you can do at home without any added expense or meeting attendance (although I can understand how support groups can often be valuable in helping people stick to a diet).

How would you like to eat bean burritos, spaghetti, pancakes and waffles as part of your new natural weight loss program? Meals like this will satisfy your taste buds, fill you up, and still cause you to lose weight.

The foods in this program are especially low in fat calories but high in being perceived as comfort foods. People can usually eat as much as they want and still lose weight, all the while becoming healthier.

The recommended foods include:

  • Whole grains and whole grain products (with no added oil)*
  • Potatoes, sweet potatoes, yams
  • Squashes
  • Beans and peas
  • Vegetables
  • Mild spices and cooking herbs
  • Fruit and fruit juices (2-3 servings per day)

*For even faster weight loss, eliminate all flour products (pastas, breads, bagels, etc.) and increase your consumption of green and yellow vegetables.

Eat Starches for Satisfaction

When people want to quickly lose weight, they often try to get by on just salad-type vegetables, such as lettuce, tomatoes, carrots, and celery. While these are very nutritious foods, they don’t leave you satisfied.

However, if you plan your diet around starches, such as potatoes, rice, sweet potatoes and beans, you’ll be satisfied and well nourished. Starches are low in calories, high in fiber, low in fat, rich in complex carbohydrates, contain no cholesterol, are abundantly nutritious and filling.

Instead of feeling deprived by having to subsist on just “rabbit food,” you’ll feel satisfied on these starchy foods and your health will undoubtedly improve.
